how many of you actually listen to a radio other than in the car or on in the background? Do people still tune in at home as much? I don't actually know anyone who does.

No sugar, Sherlock. I love The Archers :)

I would never have known it was Mary in Edwin Drood - the voice (and cough) was amazing.
The first thing I do in the morning when I wake up is turn turn my radio on, wouldnt like to be without it., and Im not 80 either! My sister in law always listens to The Archers, she been following it ever since it first started!
Prudie, maybe Mary listened to Wessex too - she moved to Dorset in her final years to be near her son who had a pub.
I listen to internet radio for many hours per day (with ROK Radio's two British Comedy channels taking up much of that time). I listen to Classic FM most of the time when there's nothing I like on ROK (and also in the car). I have Radio 2 on when I'm bathing and shaving though and I'll occasionally dip into Radio 4 or Radio 4 Extra at other times.
Radio on all day here, mostly Radio 4.
Also Zenith Classic Rock (Ireland) and GotRadio-Folklore (US) on internet radio.
my radio is on all day at home, classic fm or radio 3
I listen to Classic Fm for most of the day.
Using internet radio here in Portugal I have Radio 2 on all day. Radio is replica of the good old Roberts Radio
I find I'm listening more and more to Radio 3. Can't understand why anyone would want to listen to Classic FM and endure intrusive adverts, when there is such a range of music on Radio 3, advert-free. My particular favourites are Private Passions (much more interesting than Desert Island Discs), Music Planet, and the brilliant Words and Music.

I turn To Radio 2 at 10:30 am for Popmaster with Ken Bruce, though
^Totally agree. Classic FM....same old "tunes" all the time, too many ads and naff presenters. For classical, my choice is Radio Caprice (Russia)...no ads, no chat, just music 24/7.
Radio 4 on lots. Much better than tv. Radio is a companion and tv is just there.

PS. Haven't quite reached 80 yet.
I haven’t been a fan of radio since the days when of educating Archie and Dick Barton,Special Agent, and my favourite TAKE IT FROM HERE, Ron and Eth were hilarious.
I listen to the late night phone-ins on LBC Radio, that is except on Friday and Saturday nights, when a guy called Nick Abbott is on.

Has anyone on AB listened to his show, if so what are your comments?

Mostly R2 for me for a few hours per day but only once the ghastly Zoe Ball has finished her show!
Radio Four, only. No music. Music is for listening to, like books are for reading. Neither work as wallpaper.
