Do you remember collecting train numbers back in the very old days?
I'm sure I go back further and collected car numbers or have I imagined that one?

Trains didn't just have numbers when we went train spotting, Caran. Lots of them had had fantastic names, after places, people, regiments etc. We used to go to Longsight Loco Sheds in Manchester every Sunday, where you could just walk in and stroll round where the engines were in for repair. Imagine that now! We also went to Newton-le-Willows. This was mid 50's to 60's. Great times.
