I bought the right printer Chris. Im having devil of a job setting it up. On 'my add a printer' its only coming up as Canon TS 500 series. Pressed that and even put in the CD but it not working. Saying there is a 'printer error' and 'Sent a test page to your printer' .....but that s all Im getting.
Im at a loss as what to do. Can you help ? x

Unsure what the right printer is, but do you have the right printer driver ? Usually the disk lets you install one when you run it; although Windows may know of, or the printer manufacturer's website may have a later update.
With the printer not connected or switched off, delete any printer settings listed in your 'Devices' section on your pc. Shutdown and Start pc again, not 'Restart'.

Make sure you've got the latest drivers from the Canon uk support site and do a fresh install
I always go to the Canon website for the very latest driver as the disk in the box could be months old. If you post your specific model and windows version I`ll post a link.
I think you mean Canon TS 5000 series which is correct ss (from your previous post) I`m assuming you have bought the TS 5050. The latest driver will be on the Canon website and the site should detect your operating system.

You've downloaded and have you installed it? Then followed the prompts?

Got it finally. Needed all the parts open on the printer.
