How To Remove Rust From Cast Iron

I have a set of old cast iron scale weights which are rusty. What is the best way to clean them please? Thanks

Wire brush/wire wool.
If you have a small angle grinder with a wire brush on it, that will strip it is a few minutes, otherwise its manually with a wire brush.
depends how good you are at DIY. I would start with some fibre wheels that you can attach to drill. Other method would be to use some wire wool that you can do by hand, you just need to buy some various grades and then give them a wipe over with some vegetable oil to prevent rust coming back.
Let it soak in a dilute vinegar as long as it needs.
Most important - wear goggles or similar.
If its just weights not scales go with OGs advice, I would use white vinegar, its slightly more acidic.

I reckon, had he soaked for a couple of days or more, rather than hours, he could've avoided the drill rust removal stage and wiped the rust off with a paper towel.
