if you are off sick from work, say due to fever , flu , headache - are you obliged to stay inside and not go out ? -what if your boss saw you when you said you had a flu or cold ? are there any sickness rules that require you to stay inside?

However, being seen by your boss in, say, the local shopping centre or pub when you're supposed to be ill would not be a good idea. It just doesn't look right and would, naturally, make the boss a little suspicious.
But, personally, I usually feel better being outside in the cold when I have a cold, warmth seems to make it worse.

If you REALLY had fever or flu for instance, you would not even think of going out, it would be a struggle to even get out of bed.
If you only had a cold then, in most cases, you could most probably go into work. The infectious state is before the cold 'comes out' so you wont infect others at work.
If youre well enough to go out and about, youre well enough to go to work!
