I've got several climbing roses at the bottom of my garden and they're all doing great but Just to the side of them I have one standard rose with a problem. It's got plenty of new growth and rose buds coming , but about half way down the plant all the leaves are turning from mottled black to completely black then dropping off. There's no infestation and It's well watered and fed. What's the problem please.

Black spot :( not good news. https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=270
I've had that.

Gather up all the fallen leaves and get rid of them in the bin. Then I got some decent spray. Gave them a good prune folling spring.

It still comes back but I now look out for it and remove the odd infected leaves so pretty much got it under control.

Good luck!
