Maybe a vote winner with the armed forces should a GE be called but as a vote winner within the Govt.......I don’t think so.
I don't know what threat he's talking about but in the event of a General Election and a win for Labour, Corbyn will soon reverse that decision.
Hunt is really getting desperate, isn't he? If I were Boris I'd go on a four-week holiday then come back to claim the laurels.
Hunt has rather lost the plot although I suppose he has nothing to lose.

I am still puzzled about the Russian threat. Is it any more than other similar countries - like China who the Government want to hand our communications over to?

the Chinese tend not to run around Britain distributing free novichok to the locals.
Hunt can try and play any card he wants but it will not be anywhere near enough to land the big job.

I'm puzzled about the 'threat' and also where astronomical sums can suddenly be found for a budget!

If there is some spare cash I'd rather see it go elsewhere!
I see jno. The Chinese are pillars of human rights in your book I suppose and never bump off people.

Danny, that threat comes from many other courtries, including China - and some 'friendly' ones. As I said what is the threat that is different from other countries?
my question is whether they bump off people here.

jno; The Russians were (allegedly) bumping off their own, not Brits, in Salisbury. Why would an extra £15 million be required to prevent two guys doing the same thing again?

£15 billion, Khandro - and that would be my question too.

Good advice. He was made to sound like an idiot on LBC this morning.
He's no Nigel Farage.

Still, this small change compared with Theresa's parting shot, being given the nod through this afternoon;

Not only does this prospective PM not know if his wife is Chinese or Japanese, he can't tell the difference between a mike and a speaker!
