travel the world for a year all expenses paid or have £100,000 to spend on whatever you want?

Experiences or things, which do you value more?

I'd have the money please. While I have nothing against "experiences", travelling just isn't a priority any more. I have family, friends, work, horses, dogs here... so while I might buy a few "things"... i would prefer to spend the time and money with the people I choose too.

Sqad. I wouldn’t touch one of those floating old folks homes, ta. Nor the more ‘modern’ ones which are probably full of screaming kids. You can, with a bit of planning, fly RTW for less than £1k. So with £100k, you can probably do it Business class. And still stay in legionella free 4* terra firma hotels.
LOL cal, i doubt you could annoy me in real life
Zac...pick your cruise ship (no children), pick you cabin (owner's suite)
Fly first class.....pick your hotels £800/ night minimum.
Can't guarantee the legionnaire bit though ;-)
I'd rather travel the world. I cannot see anything I want that would cost £1000. It would only be left to the grandkids. If I was younger I would go for the money.
Yeah, but you might be on it. ;-)
No £100K wouldn't buy me what I want in Menorca bit it would be a good down payment :-)
People's attitude to travel varies. My 91 year old mother used to get about a bit.
On one occasion, she'd just returned from a cruise - around Norway.

How was the trip, Ma?

Well dear, it was very nice, but once you've seen one fjord... you've seen them all.

;o)
LOL...that's what one gets when one cruises around Norway.
:o)
the Builder.......now if she had cruised the fjords on Nov12 1944, she would have seen the R.A.F sink the German battleship Tirpitz.................now that would have brightened up her cruise....;-)
I would rather have the money please.
I do travel the world all year all expenses paid so I`ll take the £100,000 as well thank you.

Mrs B and I are lucky, we're both retired, we both have 2 pensions and we own 6 rental properties equally between us, I also manage the rentals owned by the 2 girls who live with us, (no fees charged :o) we've traveled a lot in the past and are now concentrating on seeing more of this Country (UK) there is so much on offer, so we'll take the £100K please and just carry on doing our own thing.
