My Dad has a cottage on the beach in Ireland, loved it to death as a kid and still one of my favourite places in all the world to go to now-takes you right back to the fundamentals of who you are.
When I was a kid we had a caravan in the same town as where we lived so as far as I was concerned we went on holiday almost every weekend. It was brilliant (bit of a s/hole now)
Nowadays I like going abroad to quietish areas but within walking distance of something of interest. Or to Ireland.

We went to Bournemouth every summer when I was a child. Then when I was 12 I went on the first of many holidays to Northern Cyprus where my parents had a house and visited loads of family.
