Hi,
Never not received the V11 car tax reminder until now. Is it just lost in the post or have they stopped being sent ?

You can tax on line, easy as pie
Question Author
Oh yeah, I always do, have dug out the log book, just wondered if they'd stopped sending the reminders.
Our car needed renewal in March and we had a reminder then. Whilst it's easy to do online I think you need a reference from the reminder.
You need the form to tax your car on line, as it has a reference number you have to enter.
Have you signed up to monthly DD? Perhaps it just continues

Never pay by dd, [even] more expensive, but never not had a reminder. I did it earlier using the reference number on the log book, & had the confirmation e-mail, though not showing as taxed on the DVLA's tax checker yet *sigh*
Never had these issues before :(
You should have received one according to this.

My one litre Fiesta is exempt, but I get a reminder, with generous advance notice, every year.
I then have to go online and pay £0·00, otherwise it's not regarded as taxed.
>>> Never pay by dd, [even] more expensive

Not if you pay annually (which your post seems to suggest that you do anyway). The 5% surcharge only applies to monthly or 6-monthly payments:

I know I'm being a pedant, but...

'but never not had a .....' = always have had...

(Sorry)
Got to be done Cap'n...

Buenchico, have never looked at paying annually by dd but I still wouldn't do that in case I don't have the same car, I could easily forget to cancel the dd, a-hem. I do pay by credit card now, since they ditched the levy for doing so - I have a cash back cc ;)

captain2, "always have had", quite right. I always have had a V11 car tax reminder until now. Your point ?
Double negative = a positive, CW1, that's all. :))
not at all, Captain. He's saying he's not had a reminder, then pointing out that this has never happened before. The meaning is the same, but the different selection of words has a purpose.
but remember Captain, in English, two positives can never make a negative...
Yeah, right. :-)
