Printing Onto Dvds

I used to do this, years ago, on my old Canon MP800, but they've changed all the programs and I'm now stuck.

Still on a Canon (MG7151), this time using My Image Garden, and I just can't make it run. Downloaded Disketch, no improvement...

Paper size, CD printable, Paper feed, CD tray, but I get no further.

Anyone tried this, and what are the tricks to get your DVD to get printed?

Are you 'printing' to the DVD or from one you already had?

Who uses DVD anymore, use SD cards.

Image onto 'printable' DVD blanks. Who uses DVDs? Millions of people still watch films etc from DVDs.

The images I have on DVD's can simply be opened by Adobe photoshop and printed from there. I've never had any problems with any of the software for burning the image to the disc. I used WinDVD.

What OS are you using and does the burning software work on the version of the OS software?

What is the format of the image on the DVD out of interest?

Do millions really use DVD's for images? It's certainly not the way forward anymore, even films can be copied to an SD card these days.

ymb - I think BB is trying to print a label ON the DVD; it's not the contents he's having trouble with. How do you label your SD cards?

Yes, I'm printing onto 'CD printable' discs (there's a clue).

Designing (or what passes for) isn't a problem. My Image Garden is fairly intuitive for bringing in images, positioning, putting type round them, etc... it's the actual process of putting that image onto the metal disc that's the problem.

I can't really be any help, BB; I was just trying to clarify things for ymb. I've only ever printed onto labels and then stuck them onto DVDs and the problem with that is that if you don't get the label exactly central the disc can get out of balance when you use it. I use Bluray now and you can't stick labels on those so I just have to write the subject on the disc and make a pretty label for the box.

Have you tried using, if your printer is compatible Canon Easy Photo Print or the newer version Easy Photo Print Editor? While it’s called Photo Print it also prints CD/DVD labels
