Considering promising ice cream from the shop (a proper one, not a cheapy Asda one) if they can both hold it together (if one starts crying the other might, it could go on all evening). Plus, still waiting to hear from boy #2 who rang from France this morning saying he’d ripped his toenail off and there was talk of the hospital (but he can be a drama queen) - would be awful if he couldn’t participate in the rest of activities.
We drank wine beer or cider with evening meals when children as a matter of routine Frank, as a result none of us are alcoholics- in fact I rarely drink anything to excess. It's quite normal here- are you sure you're from the UK?

My sister and were allowed to drink wine with meals and cider or lager of an evening or weekend afternoon. We are both fairly big peeheads now, as I mentioned on another thread.
Thankfully my son and two of hers hardly drink.
End of primary school for my eldest son was here “funny farm” barn disco for his year. Its still talked about 30y later & am visited by the now grown kids with their offspring.
