Update On My Cat With Suspected Brain Haemorrhage.

Sorry Sqad I've only just noticed your post of 14th at the end of my first thread on this.
To answer your question is difficult. He comes out from under the bed about twice a day and is walking from one end of the room to the other without falling over but is unsteady and falls over if anything startles him. He has been into the garden for a little while most days, sometimes lying in the sun for 10 mins or so. Then he goes back under the bed again. Today he has spent more time in the living room with the dog and me, just lying around instead of going back to his bed. Still listing heavily to the right.
Now the not so good. Refuses to take any food if his pill's in it. Only twice this week has he taken food with his pill and now won't touch it. Yesterday morning he ate a third of a sachet of cat food and then was sick, four times, bringing more up the he had taken in that day. Again this morning, ate a little first thing and then was sick again within five minutes of eating it. {No mess to worry about as the dog ate it before I could get it!!) Over the last 48 hours he has eaten two 15g sachets of Salmon Yogurt, one 15g sachet of Chicken Yogurt, half of a thin slice of ham, one sachet of cat food over the two days but brought it up again. To try and keep him from starving to death I've been giving him Dreamies because I think it's more important that he eats something rather than next to nothing. I'm sure if I'm wrong Sqad you'll tell but I also think it's more important to get some food down him rather than his Steroids?? The vet wants him be strong enough to take a full anaesthetic in order to have a scan probably Monday or Tuesday next week and that's what I'm aiming for. I apologise if this is muddled but I'm quite muddled myself at the moment. *** pets don't you just love 'em;-)
And thank you for your interest. xx

I was told that they can smell medication and that keeping it a fridge would help. It was a Vet nurse who told me.
They make awful patients. Frankie refused to eat his kidney failure diet.
We have reached a compromise.

I hope everything goes well for him Ladybirder. A quick thought though, I don't know if cats can get this but I had an elderly dog with Vestibular syndrome which mimics the symptoms of a stroke. He had several attacks which slowly (very slowly) wore off, so worth asking your vet if cats can get it too. x

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and best wishes.
I will keep you informed Sqad. x
Wolf I've put the pills in the fridge. x
Thank you Bill, hIa and Smow. x x x ;-)
Calico, yes, thank you, Vestibular Syndrome is No.2 on the list as you will see from my first post on this subject. I think the vet thought the Stroke was more likely as Bobbie had no ear scratching or head shaking etc but VS has by no means been ruled out. It has been 21 days now since he was first ill and VS has usually cleared up inside that time. Here's my first thread if you can be bothered!! x
