I have a cd player to fit in my vehicle. There are 2 power leads to connect, 1 red, the other orange which goes through a black box. Which do I use for a straight through connection to the battery so that the cd player can be played even with the ignition key out?

If they're both power leads you could safely connect both to the permanent 12v.

Obviously one is meant to be switched, but if you don't want this option, then connect both of them

make sure you put a fuse on the live wire to be on the safe side
