I think we all would like some spare cash now and again to enjoy, but the likes of Titchmarsh / Parkey, and many others that do it, just go's to show how greedy they really are, they can't possibly need the money.
We have all these opinions being thrown about. but who is he, does anyone actually know?
Baldric[[
who cares?(joke)
It’s just a bleedin advert for gawd sake. Not sure it warrants being so enraged.
It enrages more so, because the advert is trying to bleed older folk of maybe there only asset.
^ I`m not sure about that. A friend of mine has just done equity release and she is only in her late 50s (no kids) She has freed up money to spend now as she has nobody to leave her £800,000 house to. You can`t take it with you.
It's just an advert.

The actor was selected for his suitability - non-threatening, average, and so on.

Not a 'poor fella' at all ummm - actors get repeat fees every time their ad is shown, so he will be making quite a bit from this campaign.
It's not all about the money Andy, many actors appearing in adverts really want to be serious actors.
I don't think a TV advert has ever caused me to feel like smacking anyone.
This would be my luck;
'In 1965, aged 90 and with no heirs left, Calment signed a life estate contract on her apartment with notary public André-François Raffray, selling the property in exchange for a right of occupancy and a monthly revenue of 2,500 francs (€380) until her death. Raffray died in 1995, by which time Calment had received more than double the apartment's value from him, and his family had to continue making payments. Calment commented on the situation by saying, "in life, one sometimes makes bad deals."[11] In 1985, she moved into a nursing home, having lived on her own until age 110.[1]'

I suggest it all depends on how many times you see a particular advert and how often it might be broadcast during a programme you are really interested in. The cry "Oh not again" is often uttered in this house for that very reason.

My advice to Sqad is record the programmes you are interested in and fast forward through all the adverts ;)
there is a set of ads where I think the actors should be lined up and shot
carol V and something
the really crappy funeral insurance / savings plans ( death being inevitable) where the payout goes down the longer you live ! yes really
the two chase actors advertising gambling for chrissakes

shoot them all - fingernails before hand

or mute and practise your lip reading ....

wasnt some Tory boy caught out by this ten or twenty years ago ?
the deal favoured him, cross over point at age 210 or something ( you had to live to 210 for it to be advantageous to the seller )
Such high dudgeon from the professional classes, one might have to ask for ID.
ay clarses?
carol V got a III in engineering at Cambridge innit
