Leave A Review

When you buy something online, or stay somewhere, do you respond to the 'leave a review' emails you get a short time later? I always have, but am now starting to begrudge keep doing it and wonder if they will notice if I don't. Will it make any difference? Do you leave a review?

I was astonished by one reviewer who rated it one star and posted 'I washed my pan and left it to dry and found it had rusted and also the handle gets very hot and its very heavy'. None of this is the fault of the product, just the ignorance of the poster who clearly hadn't done any research into using cast iron cookware
What about when you have to phone the council for something and they want you to review the service you received from whoever answered the phone? If they have been pleasant and helpful I feel bad if I don't give them a good review, but sometimes they just drive me mad, especially the 'give them marks out of ten' ones and would you recommend them.
lankeela, do you ever look at reviews when you are the buyer before making a purchase/booking?
I buy a lot on line and always look at 1 star ratings first. Some are marked as verified purchases so I take interest in them. So far so good, have never bought a pup. Likewise, I am happy to give honest reviews, hoping they will advise others.

I try to leave a review to say whether I was pleased or not, even if it is just to say pleased with item . I do tend to read the reviews albeit with an open mind :) I have never heard of hospitals asking for a review, mind you the new hospital in my town has only been open maybe 5 yrs and I would not give it a good review, patients dying from infections , large pieces of cladding etc falling off building how no-one has been killed yet amazes me .
I tend not to respond to 'leave a review' emails, but I sometimes send a company an email praising them if I've received particularly good service. Kwik Fit recently quickly sorted out a problem with my car that a few other garages had sucked their teeth about, and the guy who dealt with me was so pleasant that I thought it (and he) deserved some praise, so I emailed their head office about it.
Well I always have but just recently its been driving me mad - not just the ones for stuff you have bought, I don't mind giving an honest review on those, but those ones asking if people were polite when you phoned them - wouldn't need a review - I'd soon tell them if they weren't! I used to pay my rent over the phone and had to go through all this every month.
