Yesterday we had to go to Bristol hospital for OH'S scan in preparation for his Cochlea ear inplant. Weather was terrible and M48 bridge was closed but we got there ok.
Anyway when we got home about 3.00 pm there on the doorstep was the most enormous bunch of flowers I have ever seen. It was from my daughter who's on holiday for a month in Croatia, the note with it almost made me cry, It said "just because you are my mum"
I rang her to say thank you and said it must have cost a fortune as there was so many flowers, I filled three very large vases and struggled to get them all in.
She told me she had seen a message on Facebook from a local florist who had ordered loads of flowers for a festival that had been cancelled and wanted to just get rid of them before they died and was selling them for a fraction of the cost. So she rang her from Croatia and ordered them.
They are absolutely beautiful. I am so lucky.
There was an article about the cancelled festival in the local paper. As well as the flowers problem there was the matter of a thousand toilet rolls that had been ordered!
That’s so lovely.
My step-granddaughter was going to the festival in Newquay. Is that the one?
She was gutted that it was cancelled, but ...
Flowers are always lovely.
Well, that reminds me of Glastonbury about 25 years ago. Apparently not much has changed in the ..erm..provisions since then.
Sorry, Caran, we seem to have gone from flowers to ...cough... ***
Happened after one mothers day near me, someone had made an ordering error at asda, They were everywhere up the aisles, round the kiosk, selling huge bunches for 50p I bought loads and gave them away to the old ladies in the block.
