I'm being thick as usual, but need to know the following.....
Are all the words in the final grid real words?
With the words that are too long, do I ignore one letter leaving a real word or put two letters in the square? (what has made me ask this is 22 across which I believe is oil paper so the only way it can be a real word is to put IL in the second square)
Do I have to DO anything with the 'advice'? as it is what I always do with crosswords!
Also I'm stuck on 29 across: Founders broadcast updates to latest version (5) SY?S 34 across Letter writers subdued tone (5) TA??A & 35 across: One's calling satisfied hitman in Chicago? (6) ME?I?R
Sorry this is such a long query!
Thanks in advance
Yes, all the words are real. The advice is actually crucial! If you lightly put both letters in the affected cells, I think you'll see what's going on.
34 Taupe, tone. Tau, letter + pe(n), writer.
29 Syncs, updates to latest version. It sounds like Sinks, founders. I've given you the full answer - so you'll notice more about the letters involved!
