Please could someone explain to me why 18d “Poisonous type in house south of London” is “scorpion”?

Thanks Lie-in King. Possibly not the best of clues but perhaps my fault as I don’t tend to think of the Zodiac signs as houses.

In fairness to Doona, that's a terrible clue. "Sign from South London" would make much more sense.

Mozz- This is a down clue so house south of London makes perfect sense.
