baby gift hamper
hi everyone. a close friend is pregnant and is due in 2 months. i would love to get the new family a gift hamper with a mixture of things in it (for the baby and the parents), and was hoping for some suggestions for lots of little things that you would have liked to receive as presents when your children were born. Thanks!

maybe include some sort of homemade baby sitting voucher - they may not want to leave baby for an evening while it's so young, but maybe they could be used in a way for you to go round and look after baby while mum has a little sleep or a long bath, and some time to herself.
sorry i don't have many ideas for dad - tho he could share the bottle of wine/champers crete suggested with mum! :o)

how about getting some of the 'boring' things. There's not much that a newborn needs, no toys and not hundreds of clothes. But they will need nappies, wipes, nappy cream...that kind of thing.
I've not had a child yet, but i know that I would appreciate things that come in handy like that!
as for the parents - why not offer time rather than anything material. Perhaps mow the lawn for them, do the food shopping, take the dog for a walk..?

Hiya, Being 27 wks pregnant, all I can think of that we haven't already bought is more nappies & wipes (something we're going to need a constant stock of) also, baby products for bathing etc.
I did see something at the baby exhibition that I kind of hoped someone would buy, just because they were so unusual... here's a link.

I just think they're a really nice idea and completely different than any other gifts I've seen.

we have done this a few times for friends with new babies, usually we put in
a set of ear plugs
posh bubble bath
something for baby to wear
a tin of dog or cat food if they have one
a bag of newborn nappies
choccies
some really good jams or honey
a bottle of something
this always goes down well, especially last time with the cat food as they had forgotten about the cat!!!
