He could make quite a bit of money letting the place, but he does not. He is not a landlord and the link says; "They come up here quite regularly at the weekends, especially in the summer." Hardly and empty property, then. Another non-story, in my very humble opinion, of course.
If he uses it regularly or irregularly doesn’t matter. He has two properties yet he is advocating compulsory purchasing at vastly below market value other peoples property for no other reason than they let it out to homeless people.

When he made his statement about empty properties, was he not talking about those properties that have stood empty for some time. There is one on my street that has been empty as long as i have lived here - just over 20 years. About 6 weeks back, work began on the property and i am led to believe that it will shortly be sold or leased out. 20 years!
