Notifying Insurance.
Rang my travel insurance to update them about changes I thought they should know of. Wife has had a history of breast cancer, which the insurance knows about. She’s had another mammogram recently that’s showed up something. Had a biopsy, and she is waiting for results. I informed insurance of this. Reply was. No need to inform us of that, only when wife gets results. I think I was doing the right thing. Seeing as a lot of insurance claims are denied due to not keeping them informed. Any views . Thanks Bob.

Then they sent me a copy of the chat to my email address so I had it in writing just in case. As you say it is best to keep them informed as it covers you. Many calls to insurance companies are recorded anyway so as long as you know the date and rough time you phoned that would be your fallback should one be needed. As you say it's best to inform them to be on the safe side.
I inform the insurance companies of every and any little thing as it is too easy for them to refuse a claim. I informed the car insurance when I had a dashcam fitted (possible modification) but they didn't need to know, however I made sure they made a note of the call.
I told the house insurance when I had an alarm fitted. Again they didn't need to know.
Better to be safe than sorry, in my view
