Wedding Seating On Top Table - Is There A Correct Way??
79 Answers
My son is getting married next year and his gf has gone into full bridezilla mode, but that’s his problem lol.
My query is the table seating. My daughter has told me that the gf is planning to have her parents at top table, plus me, and my sons dad (my ex), but not our current spouses, to whom we have both been married to for 10 years each. She wants them to go and sit separately with other guests, of which Mr Smow will only know about 3!
My ex has refused to sit away from his wife, and sons gf thinks he is being entirely unreasonable, but actually I agree with him.
Now she doesn’t know I even know about this seating plan yet, but I wanted to gently broach the subject with her. I’ve spoken to a few people who have been divorced and remarried and they all said that their current spouses were sat with them at the top table.
What do you think??

Do something lovely with your current partner just for the two of you after the wedding.
At my brother's wedding my Mum was next to bride's Dad and and my Dad next to bride's Mum. As there were five bridesmaids (including my self )we were scattered around the other tables. I ended up sitting next to a lady and her son , the lady complained constantly about everything, I'd never met her before, found out at afterwards she was the bride's stepmother. There was no way on earth she was ever going to be on the top table as she had had a long-term affair with the bride's Dad and the bride's Mum was the last one to know. She may have been a moaning Myrtle, and it was better to keep her away from the top table
Who said you'd done anything wrong? You were in hospital watching over your son in a terrible state a couple of wees ago with lots of posts but you've never told us since how he's doing. I've just made the comment because when BM asked you said to message you for an update. We can't all do that but I'm sure many of us would like to know he's OK but you haven't mentioned it since.
