A US friend has sent me an electronic card for my birthday today via www.123greetings.com. After viewing the card a pop-up box appeared telling me to click on this because I had won a choice of one of three FREE* laptops as an hourly prize. Curious, I selected a one & was then invited to fill in my mailing details for its despatch via a site which seemed to belong to the ConsumerSurvingCentre.co.uk. There is no clarification of what the word FREE* means and I didn't proceed.
Is this a con? Has anybody else come across it. It would be lovely to win a free laptop but I really smell a rat here.

It is a con - you need to subscribe to several of their site sponsors and then get several friends to also sign up before you receive it, that was as far into it as I read before deleting.
