100 greatest movie stars - what a joke!

Anything that places Ewan McGregor over Tom Cruise has got to be a complete farce! More important, Marlon Brando not even in the top 20. Did others feel some of our idols were wronged? (Oh, and I never remember being asked to vote for this)

I guess being a 'star' and being an actor are two different things, so on that criteria, Cruise is certainly far more of a 'star' than McGregor. These things are entirely subjective, as are all opinions on popular culture, for instance, there are sane intelligent people out there who thing that patrick Kielty alone is worth the licence fee ... I just don't know who these people are - anyone want to own up?
This was a Channel 4 Top 100 Movie Stars. It does not in anyway claim to be a worldwide, conclusive result. Think of the people who watch Channel 4, and those who would vote through the C4 website. These people are probably people who enjoy British movies, or slightly underground movies, amongst the other things found on Channel 4.
Not many people want to own up to thinking that Tom Cruise is their favourite star, but neither male or female people would mind saying Ewan McGregor is theirs. I mean, he's done Trainspotting, everyone liked that, it was a British movie, you briefly see his cock...
I in no way feel it was a "general" top 100, but it's still interesting to know what the Channel 4 audience think of as their favourite stars.

Exactly Andy! Tom Cruise is a bigger movie star, especially on a list of the "world's" greatest movie stars. The question of acting ability or whether I think he's 'cute' is not relevant here.
I enjoyed the famous people talking-heads format but didn't agree with the order. (Although they got Pacino as No.1 spot on :)
