Spent a pleasant hour cleaning all my fountain pens. Determined that writing letters rather than sending non urgent emails and writing proper messages in cards will be my way forward. Especially writing letters to my friends little girl who loves it when the post is for her.
Anyone else a fan of this old fashioned idea that the pen can be mightier han Word add microsoft trademark

I tend to send notelets to my elderly relatives who don't 'do' computers and I always use a black ink fountain pen. My handwriting is so much better using either a pencil or a fountain pen.
I think it would take me a fortnight to clean all my fountain pens.
I used to collect vintage Parkers and anything else that came along and I have a whacking great boxfull. I only use one though, a Duofold from the '60's.
I often send hand-written messages too, especially to say 'thank you' - and I love fountain pens. Nothing like it!
I think it's lovely to do this. Not that I've done it for a long time!
Very satisfying and rewarding, I'm sure.
I send notelets too, to friends and relatives. So much more thoughtful than a quick email, I think.

Glad I am not the only one. Owning a mont blanc is on my wish list, a nice real silver one as gold is a bit flash. Some of the pens were Dave's he had wonderful handwriting
I love using Fountain Pens. It is the only way I slow down and write neatly. My favourite pen is a Gold Watermans with matching Ballpoint and propelling pencil. It was presented to me by the late King Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Has his Moniker etched on it.
I still have my first fountain pen. A Osmiroid that was a calligraphy set with different nibs and a starter booklet to calligraphy. That must be about 55 years old. I expect the bladder has perished by now. :-(
I agree about Gold looking OTT. My set looks hideously ostentatious .I much prefer silver.

Worth getting it replaced some old pens are nicer to write with.
Have you tried standing up while you write, retro?
Lol. That would make it worse.I would be swaying all over the place these days. Used to do most of my initial writing standing up.We used pencils then.
Propelling pencils too, especially Parker ones, I love the action of turning the barrel to expose the lead.
I've lost a million of them...
