Outlook Won't Open Up.
16 Answers
I have Outlook 2016 with Office 365. It hasn't been working well for a few days. Emails not downloading for example.
Today after shutting my laptop down and then re-opening it I find that I can't get Outlook to open at all.
Looked up on help files but it seems that one needs to be a computer buff to follow the suggestions to correct this problem which appears to be quite common. Anyway I can't follow the directions.
Does any helpful member know of a simple way to get Oulook to start up?
Thanks.

I also use outlook 2016 with MS Office package and find it very temperamental (I blame Win 10). It often won't update and I have to shut down and re-start. Even then many times it won't open at all like you and I have to keep trying (ie clicking the icon repeatedly) until for no reason it does open up.

I've no idea how long it might take. I don't use Outlook (Thunderbird is better) and I can never understand why people use Office 365 when Microsoft still sells up-to-date versions of Microsoft Office on a single purchase basis (rather than the subscription basis which Office 365 uses). Indeed, I can't see why anyone uses Microsoft Office at all, when there are so many equally good freebies available.
It should get there eventually though!

Getting back to Buenchico's comments on Outlook and Office 365, it's a case of using what one is familiar with. At my age I find learning new programmes tedious and possibly risky. However with the assistance of the Answerbank community I find myself getting out of tough situations and learning all the time.
