//Do not take indigestion medicines 2 hours before or after taking enteric coated or gastro resistant tablets //

Might seem like a silly question

Does the above mean -

1. Leave an interval of two hours after taking indigestion medicines before taking enteric coated or gastro resistant tablets
AND
2. After taking enteric coated or gastro resistant tablets - leave an hour before taking indigestion medicines

yes
LOL.....
I have read this over and over again........and I cannot answer your question.
Apart from uncommon drug inter-reaction with antacids, I cannot see the point of the instructions.

Sorry Bazile.
Doesn't it mean that if you are taking gastro resistant tablets before indigestion medicine leave an hour between them, [or] if you are taking indigestion tablets before gastro resistant tablets leave two hours between them ?
I would ask whoever prescribed them
it looks like a two-hour gap is required on either side of the tablets, perhaps because of possible interactions.

Where did you get "one hour" from?

Instruction under number 4 in above link
thank God we saved you in the nick of time...
Tablets are given an enteric coating to prevent the drug within them being released in the stomach, so that the drug actually reaches the digestive system in the upper tract of the intestine. If an indigestion medicine is present in the stomach at the same time as the tablet, there's a risk that the coating will be broken down, thus resulting in the premature release of the drug.

Like Jno, I can't understand where the single hour in the final part of your post comes from. Also like Jno, I see the instructions as saying that there needs to be a 2 hour (minimum) gap between taking the tablets and taking an indigestion medicine, irrespective of the order in which the two are taken.
Crossed posts. (Ignore the '1 hour' bit in my post above).
Bazile.......that just serves you right for reading the instructions.
Medicine is made so complicated today....when you get indigestion, then take the antacids and take your prednisolone in one dose straight after your breakfast...then.....if you don't get indigestion, sorted, if you do then take the antacid......b..locks to the 2 hour rule.
Question Author
So what you are saying sqad is take the antacids at any time irrespective of when you take the prednisolone ?
Absolutely.
Don't sit for 2 hours, in pain with your antacids 2 feet away from you on the table.
