Hello am planning next year’s holiday . I’m thinking Greece mainland Greek islands ,or canaries. We are a family of 4 kids ages will be 16 and 13 . I like to go to a beach but I also like sight seeing and spas.
Any ideas in August around £4.000 budget.

I've booked to go to the Ikos Aria in Kos next year. It's all inclusive and they even have a fleet of mini cars which you can hire (free of charge) if you want to get out and explore the island. I think there are some geothermal rock pools nearby.

The hotel has a good spa and plenty of entertainment and activities for all ages.
Barcelona has lots of good beaches (and some great restaurants alongside them, serving the world's best paella) but there's loads of history and sightseeing there as well. (There are also plenty of spas). It's served by no fewer than three airports (El Prat, Reus and Girona), so there are lots of cheap flights available from a wide range of UK airports.

Malta might also be worth considering. The beaches are generally small but good and there's lots to do and explore.

Yesterday I booked up a Christmas break at the Seabank Resort and Spa at Melleiah. 2nd visit to this all inclusive db hotel.Loads of facilities and games rooms. Great activities for all ages. Last year was so good my 30+ younger son is joining us this year. Full size 6 lane bowling alley on offer. Cost for three adults and two rooms £3,450 for 14 nights all inclusive.
I love Malta. Very easy to get about via public transport, and very cheap.
I have visited Malta about 10 times. I would be living there if it wasn't for errrr.......family objections. I can smell the Sunday fish market in Marsasloxx as I type.
Had a nice fish meal there. Wasn't impressed by the market. Far too busy for my liking.

What's the point of a market if it isn't bustling, vibrant and busy ?
Am I the only person here who doesn’t like Malta?
I was staying in a horrible hotel which I moved out of, and then found that almost every restaurant and pub wouldn’t allow children.
I just don't like crowds in small spaces. Makes me a bit anxious. If it was wider I would have enjoyed it more. I'd still go back though.
Where did you stay, Jo?

I didn't go with kids but that would have peed me off if I did.
I also don’t like Malta cloverjo. Nothing specific, just didn’t like the place, horses fo courses.
