I am old enough and mature enough to see a little girl on the TV who shakingly refers to her prepared script. I recognise a abused and overwhelmed young child who appears very uncomfortable and well out of her comfort zone. Just a coincidence her mother's book has just been published isn't it.? Waving at the cameras on her yacht journey to North America with a grin on her face is a great jolly when you are not up close and personal in front of press hounds and cameras in her face.

There is something odd about this girl.
I don’t doubt she is being manipulated, exploited and controlled, but her “we will never forgive you” speech may have been impassioned and ardent, but it was also quite menacing in places.
In fact it put me in mind of Charles Manson’s monologue at the end of his trial.
Her speech writers went too far.
All any of these climate change people seem to ask for is zero carbon emissions.
They just don't say how to do it.

It seems an odd priority, at the very least, to go after the 16-year-old girl as opposed to, you know, listen to her message and the message of scientists. This is a real problem. The fact that a 16-year-old says so isn't a reason to continue to ignore it.
