I Think I Just Might Have A Few Drinks Tonight

What started as a perfectly happy Friday has ended with 3 bits of devastating news, first I get a message saying two friends are splitting up after 31 years together,followed by a phone call from another friend ( same circle) who’s daughter 38 has been diagnosed with breast cancer and then another call saying someone I know has had to have 8 inches of bowel removed because it’s cancerous .....
Happy Friday night or what ?

Mrs T is annoyed with me for drinking.
Last night I left the gas ring on the cooker. On all night. Fire risk. Told off. Quite right. Ashamed.

How much did you drink? My ex fell asleep grilling some bacon...the smoke was unbelievable.

I’ve had one vodka and coke and that’s it,didn’t feel like another, feeling quite tired and will be having an early night I think

The value of the pension means I have to shop around for a relaxing drink.
Best value so far is Taurus cider, £1.89 for four, and 5%.
Horses for courses.
I had three bottles of wine with home made labels, "Wine, More wine, and, Even more wine".
That is the total content of my cellar.

Does it taste nice?

Yes. It hits the spot. Tried zero alcohol, and 1% alcohol and they don't have the bite, like horrible lemonade.

I've tried them. Most are naff. My OH got me a bottle of non alcoholic wine from Morrisons and it was surprisingly nice. I just begrudge the price.
