For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Am not going to do your homework for you but from a customer's point of view they have been irresponsible lenders who have not behaved ethically, loaning money to individuals who are not in a position to pay it back, thus creating enormous write-off debts which the rest of their customers will have to fund in some way. They pay abominably low interest rates on current accounts . They also have a major customer service problem in that nobody knows who their local bank manager is any more and you can't telephone him/her personally if you have a problem anyway because all calls have to be routed through damned call centres in India
Probably so, as trinikim asked exactly the same question, last month.
Just my personal opinions:
If I were them, I'd be very worried about this issue concerning the freehold of the Ipswich branch. It seems very lax to have set up a branch there without sorting this out. Someone deserves a caning for it.
And, I think their tele adverts are nowhere near as good as NatWest's, or even HSBC's (which aren't very), so I'd get a different agency on the job.
I don't like the way they never clean their cash machines, either.
