In France the 1st November, All Saints Day, is a public holiday. If all goes to plan let's make it one here too.

Looks like the eyties are worried that their potential cash cow will be no longer financing them in the near future.

In reply to OP - well I will greet it with disbelief, swiftly followed by an enormous thankfulness and follow that with huge hugs to all the people I know who support me and sympathy hugs for those who don't. I shall be up to Church (I have a key) and saying 'Thank you' - then I'll hit the sparkly (there are some great Yorkshire vineyards which do the equivalent of champagne or Prosecco). After that, I shall probably cry with relief at the same time shaking with laughter to get rid of the tension.
This is all, of course, presupposing a 'proper' Brexit or a WTO Brexit. Otherwise it will be a stiff G&T, a squaring of the shoulders and back to the grindstone.
Jackdaw is right. Nov. 1st would be a lovely public holiday to adopt and use as a remembrance day for loved ones as it is in many European countries as well as celebrating Freedom Day.
