Can’t Mr J stay over with you?
Actually - good lateral thinking sherrardk. I hadn't thought of that. It may solve one worry, we'd have to take dog - but could all huddle-up if necessary. Thanks. :)
OK Jourdain my only concern would be how they degrade on dry roads, this article may help.

Thank you very much TonyV - lots to think about there. This is an unforeseen set of circumstances...……….... come to think of it that almost guarantees that they will all come together. :( I just hope that the forecasts are the usual scaremongering.
it's not "the Mirror", it's in plenty of papers, and they haven't made it up, they've got it from meteorologists.

The Mail had it a month ago

Apparently the source was Mark Saunders, professor of climate prediction at University College London (UCL), and this first appeared way back in September, and was reported in The Sunday Times.

Snap! jno
lol Canary

The Mail story accurately predicted the Indian summer last month, so they may well be on to something. Better start hoarding stuff - I see the supermarkets are already running out of ibuprofe.
If the weather is as bad as they are predicting wouldn't the schools be closed?
I think if you get worried about weather warnings, best you, hubby and dog go as one.
Thankfully I mainly work from home which is just as well as the roads (loosest possible term because they are more like farm tracks) are dreadful. I'll make sure we have essentials and wait for it to do it's worst.
just keep a patch clear for the rescue helicopters to land, Barmaid.
I don't think I'll need rescuing. Unless they are going to send me some nice young strong male uniformed aviators. In which case I might :)
Tut, floozy!....... ;-)
LOL ( what if their firemen, gness ).
