Ive just had some tiles removed in our garden and top soil put in. Its been down for a month while Ive been planing the garden, but unfortunately practically every cat in London now uses it as their own personal giant cat litter.

It smells and I dont want my young son digging it up. How do I stop them? I dont mind the cats, I just dont want to be clearing up their poo!

thanks

there is a plant you can get that cats dont like, but im not sure what its called. i think some people have asked this in animals and nature before, try asking it there for more answers.

a suggestion thats come up before is to get a cat yourself, the other cats will not want to go on your cats territory.

Mothballs placed around the garden perimeter seem to work for a few people i know, cats can't stand the smell of them.
There is a plant called - coleous canina - which does the opposite of catnip. So if you plant some of these in your garden that should keep the cats away. Look it up on the web to see if it suits your needs.

You can get 'Keep off' pellets - waxy citrus pellets that are supposed to discourage cats. They do not like citrus smells - maybe you could try putting orange and lemon peel on the garden too.
