My GP put me on BP tablets a week ago after going to see her with a chest infection. It was just one of the tests she did and it was 199/111, this was the best of 3. GP didn't say whether they've to be taken day or night and I haven't started taking them yet because when I asked her if it could be high because of the chest infection, she didn't answer directly, she just said 'I don't want you getting a stroke'. I would like to know more about it before taking the tablets as I don't want to put chemicals into my body without knowing if there are other alternatives i.e Lifestyle.
Sqad, If I knew more about it I would, but I don't know if it was high because of the chest infection and I now seem to have sinusitis or if it's just 'white coat syndrome' I will monitor it myself at home when I am feeling better and then decide. I've also been told in the past that having Rheumatoid Arthritis can cause high blood pressure even if you take the tablets. It's very difficult for me to make the right decision without knowing all the facts.
