if you have thousands of mp3 files that play at different volumes, is there any program that can adjust them so that they all play at the same level. It would save me wearing out the volume control on the stereo!
ps I have no intentions of becoming a recording artist so just brief answers please!

I've not got around to giving it a test drive, but mp3gain ( http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/ ) is supposed to do that.
I think Audacity (free download, I believe) can do this.
mp3 gain gives really good results.
I third mp3gain.

If you happen to already use iTunes, then that does it too.

I don't use an ipod, i abhor them(!), and i visited the site but there were no real updates after dec 2005.....did you get the download before then?
