20ac Throughout season instant messaging (6) P?s?i?

24d Savings schemes in West Indies and South America twice (5) S?s?s. I am looking for SA SA WI but can’t see it.

23d Tries Handel’s overture on organs (5) looks like “hears” because ears are organs but hears doesn’t mean “tries”.

Clue of the Week: Play golf with Olympian getting thrashed (9)

Hears = tries in a court sense
20a.Passim
Hears- H(andel) = ears (organs)- Tries =hears as in hears a case at court
Pygmalion - anagram of olympian + G(olf)
Pygmalion- g(olf) + anagram of Olympian

Thanks all I can see “hears” now. But why passim?

The savings scheme has me stumped. I am sure all the across answers are right but can find precious few words that fit s?s?s

WISAS - Workplace Isa'shttp://www.hrmagazine.co.uk/article-details/most-employers-intend-to-offer-lisas-and-wisas
Is 24d (5) as you show, or (6) from your suggestion of 'SA SA WI'?
Question Author
20ac Throughout = passim I can follow, presumably instant messaging = im but season = pass? As in season ticket? Seems a bit of a stretch.

So far as the Savings Scheme is concerned it can’t be WISAS as 22ac must be right “cheapskate” which gives the first “s”. Other suggestions offered don’t have anything related to West Indies.
LIK gave you a link where I answered it last week.

Mamya I saw that but to say that the West Indies is south of America as in the US twice over is really convoluted. WISAS would have made sense if the first letter were a W!
I know what you mean but if you check the Wiki Ref too - the Susu is a savings scheme in the Caribbean
, which covers the West Indies reference really.
24d Savings schemes in West Indies - (Def.) Susus

and (wordplay) - South America twice - S(outh) US, US
Question Author
Thanks Mamya you must be right.
I can't explain it any better - if it's wrong I'd be glad to see the right answer and parse.
