I was born in February and I like winter.
I also like sunshine when I’m on hols.
Question Author
I must have been conceived about Feb time , no wonder I do cosy haha
Having just traipsed round the garden, in the rain, with the dog who made all the signs of needing a wee or poo and then did nothing, I far prefer the lighter, warmer nights.

No rain here Vagus so Lola happy to go out herself in the cold, brrrr
I want warmth, and sunshine. NY winters were tolerable because it was always crisp, dry...and sunny. In spite of that, I still wanted to hibernate from October through February. A bit of SAD I think. It's worse here because of the constant never-ending damp. I lose all motivation in this weather.
I was a late August baby.
I dont like the short days or dark evenings. No evening walks or gardening, or eating outside. I'm not a fan of the TV and end up spending too long surfing the net. Been to the theatre today, and have tickets booked for various events over the next few weeks. Need plenty to look forward to otherwise I go stir crazy.

I’ve got a weekend booked in Lincoln in November with in laws and OH Then a long weekend 13th December in a log cabin by a lake with three pals
Trying to relax and watch a film on Prime but I've got fireworks going off somewhere quite close to my house.

Haven’t heard any as yet Tiggs
I hate dark nights. I have to work in the dark and have to go out in the dark and cold at around 9.30pm to finish my jobs. I love the light nights, sitting in the garden with a BBQ and bottle of wine talking around the firepit, or sitting in the Conservatory if its wet. I hate the clocks going back to GMT.
Bobbi...I think I've always felt colder here because of the damp.
Damp cold seems to be more penetrating.

I agree, NY was very crisp, but I did love the steam coming up on the sidewalks through the grids, it was like what you see on the old films, sadly we saw homeless people laying on them
Sadly, you will see homeless people on the sidewalk here also...just no steam to warm them. :(
Question Author
Yeah true but the one thing I did see that I haven’t seen before, we went Ito a McDonalds ( grandson with us) there were homeless in there picking up trays that people left with food on them, eating the stuff but then clearing the tables, the staff seemed to take this as the norm and it did mean they were eating that day
I'm a late August baby, too. I didn't mind dark evenings too much until about 10 years ago, but now they affect my life too much because I find it almost impossible to drive in the dark - these LED headlights blind me and then I can't adjust quickly to see road edges etc.. So I'm a prisoner indoors and it's that which ruins the comfortable, cosy feeling of Winter evenings it also limits me massively, can't go to the theatre, visit friends a few miles away etc., etc..

In desperation I've just bought some 'night-driving-glasses'- they are Roy Orbison size with a plain yellow lens (£30 Specsavers) which fit over your normal glasses. Tried them out last week in twilight and they helped a bit - will let you know if they work in the real dark, because I have to drive 57 miles back along the A64 from baby-sitting duties at youngest sprogs every Monday. If they don't, I will have to sleep over, which I don't want to do.
Love the dark nights, cosy in front of the fire, something good to watch on TV (hopefully) and a nice cooked meal from OH ! Autumn/winter is my fave time. Not a fan of long, overly hot nights.
