Hi Bobbisox,
I'm sorry some on AB don't appear to share your appreciation for what you wished to share. Hey Ho. I always like this ballad from Canada at this time of year. You may of heard it before.

It's more a lack of appreciation for both plagiarising and having a pop at the young of today and taking people in as it did Bobbi.

Leave the thread in place, bobbi. Regardless of author the sentiment is real.
absolutely right Mamya.
My 13yr old Granddaughter has just come back from a school visit to Belgium where they visited the war graves. Before they went on the trip they all had to do a project on the 2nd world war and I asked her if she would like some photos of my dad (Her Great-granddad) in his army uniform and the look on her face was a picture, she was so pleased to see them. I'd never shown them to her before because I didn't think she would be interested, but I was wrong. It's good that some schools are doing projects like this because then we won't ever forget the sacrifice they made.
If someone has been let down by a young person of today then yes the sentiment is real, but write it yourself - don't twist the words of others.

Three of my four grandchildren spent chunks of their formative years in Europe and have visited many War cemeteries Museums etc.

My eldest Grandson's favourite bedroom posters when he was 4/5 were of Harry Patch, he idolised him and would tell anyone he could make stand still his whole life story from heart.
Well said, Mamy, it drives me mad when people say our young don't care, they do, very much so in my experience.
Very commendable. It just strikes me that sometimes posters here can’t do right for doing wrong. I’ve no doubt this was posted with the best intentions .. but there you are.

Night all.
I'd like to know the source of Bobbi's image...who changed the original words.
I agree, mamya, it is a bit of a pop at the young- and the old. I have never personally met any that have sought remembrance particularly, or had that kind of attitude or expectation from others.
It's in no way a go at Bobbi, I have been duped on the internet - it's the people who do it and hide that get me cross.
Pasta...I don't know the source but it was posted on FB today.
It's not about bobbi at all x just my view, that is doesn't show any generation in a flattering light. Unfairly.
I saw it earlier today.
Also not a go at Bobbi at all but the last thing I'd describe it as is beautiful. It has nuances of dulce et decorum est and is actually quite ugly in reality.
