If folk in Scotland, for example, thought parties other than the SNP represented their opinions, would they not be voting for them in greater numbers and electing much fewer SNP MPs?
JD, as OG said, "as the name suggests, [the SNP] aren't interested in being a national party, but simply a Scottish interest one" the same could be said of the other major parties since they add "Scottish" to the names used in England.
