Alleged Msg From Bt
12 Answers
'We just need you to log into your account and view the amendments, as this is part of our terms and conditions'
Despite that hovering over the link appears to confirm this is a genuine BT announcement I've had many scam phone calls threatening me with suspension of the service.
Do you think this is genuine?

I agree if you have an online account log in through Google not the link provided in the email. If you prefer ring BT and they will be able to tell you if this is genuine. I refused to talk to or reply to what I thought was a dodgy telephone call and email from Vodaphone. In they end they sent me a letter but hey one can't be too careful these days.
Old_Geezer, you can upgrade and add things to your BT account online. Normally they WILL ask you to go back to your account to confirm your order, but of course this could be scammed. If the email advisised going independently to your account that may be ok, but if they supply a direct link to your account be wary.
It's very simple to put the 'We just need you to.......' into google with the words BT Scam. When I did this, I got the following:

>Why would they need to view amendments they would have made themselves ?
No, it was asking Coppit to read the changes to the terms and conditions. That is good practice and BT would be criticised if they didn't advise you of such changes. Of course it may be a scam so as stated by several of us it's best to log into the account to see whether it's a genuine message
