Why My Cat Doesn't Drink Water?
24 Answers
I have a problem with my cat. He doesn't drink any water, like never. I feed him with wet food so he gots a bit hydrated but I don't think it's enough. What do you think I should do? I've read already a bit about it on the internet but people have different opinions. I am wondering if the cat water fountain is worth buying? I liked particularly this one https:/ /miaust ore.com /uk/ but I'm not sure if it will solve my problem. Do any of you also have it and can help me?

I don't think the chlorine makes any different, just spent a week with friends who's cats insist on drinking from the swimming pool, rather than the big dog bowls of fresh water round the house and garden.
Our late cat always ignored fresh and would opt for the bird bath, puddles or any dripping tap.

Sorry to be late with this answer, but my computer had to go in for a radical upgrade, and when I got it back, it took me ages to find my way back in to all the settings on sites like the Answer Bank. Which then kept me locked out because I couldn't remember my password, and none of the help I got was any use. Finally got back in half an hour ago.
SO: when I took 20-year-old Sindy Flagtail to the Blue Cross last year, because she was leaving much of her food uneaten, they asked me if she drank much water, and I told them, not a lot. The vet said that it would be a good idea to put water in with her food - not to deluge it, just a dribble from the cold tap, so that it can be swirled around and be absorbed amongst the chunks. She now eats all her food, and the water disappears too. Result! Try it!
