There is a recognised condition - Seasonal Affected Disorder - S.A.D. - which occurs in people who require a certain amount of ultra-violet light. This can affect their moods during autumn and winter, when there is less daylight, making them lethargic and occasionally irritable.
SAD isnt specifically UV related. Its visible light, which triggers the serotonin/melatonin cascade. Malfunction of this can cause depresion and sleep disorders. Also , ask any teacher. Classes become less controllable in windy weather.
