Our budgie seems to be losing quite a few small downy feathers, could he be moulting at this time, or is it boredom. He is chirping and eating, comes out most days for a fly round.

He could be moulting if the room he’s kept in is too warm, have you checked for mites?
It could also be a juvenile moult
