I always thought that robins were a sign of the weather getter colder. There was one in my garden this morning. Is this true or is this another myth?

It is not so much 'seeing' the robins that presages colder weather, but 'hearing' their 'winter song'. As the weather gets colder, the robins start to make a 'chip', 'chip', 'chip' call.
