Ready-formatted SD card used on pc has become RAW.
I bought a new Kingston Universal 2GB SD card with a ready-formatted (FAT32) micro SD card. I used it in my Xp (FAT32) computer’s internal card reader to archive my commonly used files. The files looked to have copied successfully when I viewed the card properties before and after copying.
I removed the card and carefully stored it for a week. When I returned the card to my PC’s reader to add a few more files I found that the card was asking to be formatted! Sure enough the properties showed RAW and empty. The card’s lock switch has been left alone (unlocked) all the while. Can anyone explain what is going on please (this is the first time I have used an SD card on my PC)?
