Old Type Fuse Box

I have the older type fuse box which has six feeders(if this is what you call them),
which you put fuse wire in.However,the cooker one has a fuse in it,lot bigger than(fatter) an ordinary one.What amp would it be?

Roughly 30amp,

If the carrier has a red dot - 30A. Green dot - 45A.
That type of consumer unit has been obsolete for many years and should really be replaced.

Replace it with an MCB, Kloof.
Never have to faff about with fusewire ever again ;o)

Just had a look,three have two red dots,top and bottom.?

I re read this question - if it were let/rented accommodation, so dangerous that you could get an almost immediate order to replace

think seriously about rewiring / having fuse box brought into the 21 century - it is 2019 you know

yeah yeah I know, you come onto AB to replace a fuse and someone says you need a rewire

Thank you,did broach the subject once to my landlady,however just had new roof done,don't get me wrong,she is a good landlady. However,as she has kept the rent comparatively low ,I think because we have done lots of smaller jobs.eg.new worktops in kitchen ,case of give and take.Any idea how much it would be on an average to have a new fuse box put in?
