Would You Be Happy That A Nursery

or school only produces vegetarian meals for the children.
I was watching on the news this morning, but can't provide
a link, if anyone can ta. The parents I don't think were given
any option.

I'd be cheesed off they're pushing their agenda onto young minds. For that reason alone, no I'd not be happy. Indoctrinati on of Vegan/ Vegetarian ideas are not what a nursery is paid to do. Different matter if the parents request weird diets for their kid.

emmie, you asked what the alternative was to milk and I simply told you how my daughter raised her son without dairy and the alternatives available.
diddlydo, a bad parent is a bad parent. Most parents who choose to raise their children as vegetarian or vegan get all the information they need to raise healthy children. The NHS isn't against it in the UK. This UK child went blind because of a poor diet.

Actually, the more Ive thought about this, the more of a positive step I view it.
Not only is it getting away from meat based meals, which we’re all being encouraged to do, it’s giving those children a taste of a wider range of foods which can be nothing but good.
If I was a parent of a child at that nursery I’d congratulate the place for their forward thinking and be glad my child had a place there.
I eat meat.

I saw some sample menus reported in this case. They appear mostly to consist of curries and spicy foods which do not appeal to most small children. I remember being told by my midwife, many years ago when my children were weaning, to avoid such flavours until after the age of 3 years.
I actually work in childcare so I know that many children are in nursery from early morning until their bedtime so they don't necessarily get fed anything at home outside of Monday to Friday.
If parents are concerned they may choose to give vitamin drops.
