so early, its not like it's Christmas yet.
It takes out some of the magic, or is it that no one watches
them anyway...

for anyone who is a fan of Fred Astaire in particular, he is on BBC2 at 2.45pm Fred and Ginger.. followed by Top Hat at 15.35 BBC2.
Not sure why they don't put them on the evening...

I'll watch a good film whether it's Xmas-themed or not. They've been showing Groundhog Day a lot which is set in winter but not really Xmas, & Back to the Future (1.2.3.).

Can't beat a good western though for afternoon viewing & NONE of them mention Xmas!
PS - they will probably be cranking up Home Alone again soon.

true about a good western, but i love musicals.
I do think they're screening Christmas films too early, but I don’t mind them in general. There’s nothing wrong with ‘nice’. So much nicer than cynical.
Thanks for the tip about Top Hat, will definitely record that. LOVE those old Fred Astaire films.
Recorded Daddy Long Legs with Fred Astaire and Leslie Caron on BBC2 on Wednesday and Top Hat is set to record today. Will be there for when the usual garbage is on TV.
I adore Christmas but never watched a Christmas film , they do nothing for me
And xmas ads, and xmas goods sold, and towns xmas trimmed, and etc. etc. etc.

It's still November.
You've not seen 'Love Actually', bobbi?
Oh yes, Love Actually is a great Christmas film. I know if off by heart! I also like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - daft, but funny.
Would you believe I have not Naomi, I’m not a film buff at all unless it’s something that grabs me like the latest A Star is Born or Bohemian Rhapsody, both watched at the cinema ,OH loves his Westerns and often has them on....groannnn haha
Me too, hereIam - both. :o)

It's very funny, bobbi. Full of well-known actors. Bill Nighy as an ageing rock star is hilarious.
